TBV Kühlfahrzeuge

Flowers: temperature under control. Process under control.

Your blooms need consistency. Our vehicles hold temperature precisely, protect sensitive goods and enable fast loading and unloading, so flowers arrive fresh at the customer.

Value proposition

What flower logistics teams find at TBV

Vase life designed in from the factory

Precise air distribution, multi-zone option and full-area cooling keep roses, tulips and anthuriums in the optimal temperature window all the way to the last delivery.

CC-container-optimised dimensions

Maximised usable width and standing height up to 2.70 m under FRC conditions, matched to the Royal FloraHolland standard with 400 kg stack trolleys.

Loading and unloading in seconds

Wide, low door openings, roller tracks and even cargo floors reduce dwell times at auction, wholesale market and city tour.

Cut flowers prepared for refrigerated transport

Concept

Cut flowers are the most demanding cargo

Cut flowers and potted plants are the most demanding cargo in temperature-controlled distribution. Every hour outside the temperature window costs vase life, every ethylene concentration above zero costs buds. TBV builds refrigerated bodies that mirror this reality: bodies that work rolling from Aalsmeer to the end-customer florist, that take CC containers to the millimetre and that drive loading and unloading times at the auction down to the absolute minimum. We configure every vehicle from the factory for the real workflow of flower logistics, not for a generic dry-cooling order.

Configuration and ethylene management in detail

Interior width is not a comfort detail in flower bodies, it is economically decisive. With FRC approval, we deliver usable widths from 2,500 mm so that CC containers roll in rows without collision, without damaging blooms or stems. Standing height is designed for 2.70 m stack trolleys plus tolerance. The air distribution system works with longitudinal ducts under the ceiling and directed outlet, so even the rearmost container row is evenly flowed through. Multi-zone systems cleanly separate ethylene-producing spring bloomers like tulips and daffodils at 0 to 2 degrees from ethylene-sensitive tropical flowers like anthuriums and orchids at 12 to 15 degrees.

Closed cold rooms concentrate the ethylene produced by the cargo itself, especially under stress from vibration and temperature swing. We integrate vent flaps for targeted air exchange and condensate drains directly at the evaporator, so no drip water falls on bloom heads. The bodies are smoothly laminated, low-joint and HACCP-compliant cleanable, because most florist branch networks now require ATP-FRC standards. Wide sliding doors or two-wing rear portals with low sill and integrated ramps make rolling full CC stacks in and out a routine.

Advantages

What counts in flower distribution

CC containers in rows

Interior width from 2,500 mm under FRC, usable height up to 2.70 m. Two full CC rows roll cleanly side by side without crushing stems.

Even air distribution

Longitudinal ceiling duct with directed outlet. Identical temperature from the first to the last container position, no hot spot at the rear wall.

No drip water on cargo

Evaporator with covered fins and external condensate drain prevent thaw water from falling on bloom heads or packaging.

Wide, low door openings

Two-wing portals with sill height below 1.20 m and even cargo floor, optionally with roller track or aluminium ramp for CC trolleys.

Multi-zone climate

Physical separation for simultaneous transport of tulips at 0 to 2 degrees, roses at 4 to 6 degrees and tropicals at 12 to 15 degrees.

HACCP cleaning in minutes

Joint-free wall and floor linings, coving, rounded interior corners: fast high-pressure cleaning cycle between tours without residual moisture.

Frequently asked questions about flowers and plants

Most cut flowers are transported at 2 to 5 degrees. Tropical flowers often need 8 to 12 degrees. Our systems can be set per type of goods.

Yes, our vehicles are optimised for roll containers and CC trolleys. Wide doors, even floors and retention systems ensure fast and safe handling.

Even air circulation and precise temperature control minimise condensation. The ventilation systems distribute the cold air so that no moist spots form.

Yes, for potted plants we offer vehicles with adapted cargo securing and higher cargo areas. Larger plants can also be transported upright and safely.

The wide door openings, low loading edges and even floors allow fast, vibration-free loading and unloading. Sensitive blooms are not damaged.
